Stuff Happens

-Japan gets hit with an earthquake, then a tsunami.  Now their nuclear power plants…uh oh.  Maybe the Mayans were a year off…

-Worst timed use of Broken Window fallacy ever.

-Roderick Long: Bleeding Heart.  I’ll keep an eye on that site, seems interesting discussion so far.

-Apparently James O’Keefe went too far for even Glenn Beck.  Isn’t there a prize for that?

-Shorter Daniel Larison: “In case anyone forgot, David Frum is still an irrational nut.”

-Question for the Texas GOP: how is banning strip clubs compatible with “limited government” and “free market”?  If the people don’t want a strip club, then they’ll not patronize it and it’ll go out of business.  If they do, then it’ll make money, the market has spoken, eh?

And now PJ Crowley gets fired (“resigned”) for speaking out about Manning’s treatment. Not surprising in the least, but appalling all the same. Obama must really be the definition of a cult of personality. Try as I might, I still give him some benefit of the doubt; like maybe he’s being forced into these decisions by the Adjustment Bureau or something. Sigh… even sadder is that despite all the evidence to the contrary the vast majority of people still think there is some fundamental difference between the Dems and Repubs.

Obama himself going the extra mile to rebuke Crowley in public is particularly instructive. Funny how Mr Above-The-Frey picked that as his “naw, fuck that” moment…
